More and more these videos are showing up on the internet and television. How did we get to this point in our world? It really disturbs me that some of our younger generation has such little respect, feel entitled to take or destroy whatever they want with little or no consequences. We always want to find something or someone to blame, but really!

Please someone teach them about freewill and personal responsibility before we pass the line of no return. It isn't the governments job to take care of, or parent our children, it is ours as parents. We all need to step up to the plate and do better.

While we still have many wonderful, compassionate and caring people raising families, more and more fall by the wayside. Unfortunately I speak to those unwilling to change or act maturely. It is my hope however that with love and setting positive examples we can influence at least a few to change they way they see the world.

Other than that....all we can do is pray!

Mother's Day

Happy mother's day to all those caring for families around the world. Without a doubt this is the most difficult job any human will ever undertake in their lifetime; and with little reward or appreciation.

First... we have Moms who carry and literally nourish our unborn selves for nine months. Soon to be followed by the process of safely delivering us into the world; not an easy or painless task. Our arrival brings many years of hard work, dedication, unconditional love and support and personal sacrifice.

How quickly the memory of birth pangs depart with the arrival of our smile.

Second... we have Moms who for various reasons are unable to provide the above except for the process of getting us here. Not that they didn't want to complete the life cycle with their child; it simply wasn't feasible. They made the ultimate sacrifice by allowing their child a better future that the one currently available.

I am fortunate to have one of these special moms.

Third... we have moms who have taken on other peoples children out of love and compassion. Dedicated to do their best in helping them to grow and learn in a loving and safe environment. Their hearts know no difference after the adoption process and love flows freely.

Again, I have been blessed with a special one of these too!

Fourth...we have moms who step in only for short moments in child's life, providing safe havens until permanent homes become available. They heal the wounds and prop up damages souls best they can, sometime without any recognition for their efforts.

And suffer in silence when that role is ended.

Fifth...we have moms who marry into existing families and struggle to become the glue to bond everyone together. They become determined not to see who's child is who's but which child has need and lovingly give it.

Always with the idea to blend two families into one.

Sixth...we have moms who by their child's marriage expand their role and extend their love willingly to whatever stranger their child bring into their home. It isn't always easy to know how to fit in, but support and patience always opens hearts and doorways.

I have been quite bless with two wonderful Mother-in-laws as well.

So...take a moment to give thanks for all those women who willingly took on the task of giving you life, loving you unconditionally, and even putting up with you special personality traits.

What Are we Becoming?

I have a great sadness I am compelled to share. The news this morning is full of death and yet so many are celebrating the occasion. Now, I understand the concept of paying for your crimes and taking personal responsibility for the destruction your actions create, none the less to find joy in ending any life astounds me.

In the paper today we have articles about finding and killing Bin Laden; considered a terrorist and murderer. I will accept those as facts since evidence points that direction.

Yesterday we had a headline stating we killed Gadhafi's son and his three children; again considered by some as a terrorist. So, I understand how people would like to see them removed from power.

But this man was 29 years old, which would make his children very young and quite innocent of any crimes, yet again we celebrate. Sure, some say he was responsible for the death of many of their young so our actions were justified.

But, aren't we in danger becoming exactly what we hate? Aren't we to be more civilized? Aren't we to turn the other cheek? Don't we have personal responsibility to care about the innocent? Isn't revenge God's? Doesn't one of the ten commandments tell us thou shall not kill?

We promote ourselves as a Christian nation, but I see nothing Christian in celebrating the death of others, enemies or not. When I struggle with a moral decision I always seek in my mind, "What would Jesus do?" Somehow I don't think he would say, "Kill them with a joy in your heart."

It isn't easy to love your enemy, but to detach from our basic love of humanity makes us nothing more than poorly evolved animals. And, yes, sometimes death during such situation happens, but to have joy from that is beyond my scope of understanding. Therefore my heart is sad, and I have a grave concern for our people and what is taking place in our hearts. Without compassion, we will cease to exist as a moral or spiritual planet.

I am not saying those who commit crimes should not pay a heavy price for their actions, merely that we should not find such as sense of self satisfaction by their doing so.

I know many of you will disagree with me, but I ask you to look in your hearts and find spiritual truth of such thinking. Please send our a healing light unto the world.

Plug in to your determined self.

This time of the year is seems everyone has a goal or renewed purpose in life.

Usually by February that idea has lost it's original appeal.

What happened to turn off the switch?

Sometime is was a lack of commitment in the first place.

Perhaps it was a matter of jumping on the bandwagon; it seemed a good idea at the time.

Guilt and shame often make us feel like there is no other option; but doing anything for this reason will totally be self defeating and feed the original shame and guilt.

How to stay on track?

Be certain the goal is clearly outlined.

Make sure it is realistic to achieve.

Create honest time lines.

Keep daily logs of progress.

Avoid people and places designed to sabotage.

Refrain from self defeating ideas in your head.

Share your intent with friends who support your effort.

Renew and nurture your spirit often.

Reality is:

There is nothing you can't achieve!

Negativity Is Contagious.

We are hearing a lot about colds, flu and such. But this morning I was reading about how we face a much more deadly issue than bacterias or viruses; negative people. They have the ability to affect everything and everyone around them.

Now this information isn't new to most of us but sometimes we need a reminder to be just as vigilant to avoid negativity as we do the plague.

We all know what it feels like, can sense when they enter the room. Many times the effects have taken hold by the time we realize what has happened to us. Suddenly we feel grumpy, angry and discontented. Our normal perfect world is turned upside down and we had nothing to do with it. Or did we?

Look inside and see if any residual issues linger, for those are the embers negativity reignites. Like most fires, negativity requires fuel, take away the fuel and they die out on their own.

Practice positive thinking and living every day. Don't talk the talk....walk the talk. Become an example. Pass it along to those on your path.

Send out a ring of beautiful white light to deter all negative thinkers. Detach from any and all friends, even family, which choose to live a dark and thankless life.

Practice gratitude with every breath. Live fearlessly. Love unconditionally and promote well-being to all you meet.

This year can be the healthiest one yet, especially spiritually. Inoculate yourself and stay in the light.

One of my favorite books has that title and was written by Jack Kornfield. I highly recommend all his writings as they are full of truths and spiritual guidance.

In it he quotes "the Hindus tell us that the child in the womb sings, "Do not let me forget who I am," but that song after birth becomes, "Oh, I have forgotten already."

It seems quite easy to "forget" our true spiritual nature, become separated from our knowing self. Human life requires much from us and is extremely demanding. Too often we spend our time focusing on the material or our need to be propped up emotionally.

Take time this year to re-connect with self. Listen to spirit when it speaks. Remember....brain and heart are tools for us to use. Only spirit speaks honestly to us.

Create your life with joy and enthusiasm, practice loving intentions and gratitude.

Release negative images and thought which separate you from hearing.

This truly can be the best year of life, if you choose it to be so.

Send love and light to others so they also may find their way...find the calm inside and extend it forward.

Become determined to live 2011 fearlessly and joyfully.

You pretty much go along in life feeling invincible and impervious to aging. Until that one day when you look in the mirror and suddenly see what others have observed for a while; you got OLD!

Exactly when it happens will remain a mystery to you, although subtle signs were all around. Sure, if you look at photographs it can be seen, but what if you amazingly avoided the dreaded film?

Bones may creak a little more, your eyes are less focused, hair amazingly appears where before was lacking, while the hair you prided yourself on wanes. Your children became adults themselves bearing the next generation in front of you.

But in spite of all that, inside somewhere you are still feeling the joy of youth and find inspiration in daily life. Denial is the best anti-aging medicine I know of. It can work for as long as the body-mind connection promotes it.

But then something eventually comes along which points out your vulnerability and prods you into accepting the inevitable...you have in fact....aged gracefully. Well, at least that is my take on it and I am sticking to it.

Today I am on a clear liquid diet. Why? You inquire! Because I have crossed the threshold of no longer denying the dreaded colonoscopy and endoscopy so many valiant others before me endured. Am I being a sissy...perhaps, but I don't "do" doctors, meds, or testing, normally and would like to continue doing so.

I have to admit, I feel great not digesting so much food and perhaps will continue to cut down after this event is passed. I understand that people who consume little food tend to live longer, but then why do so many die from starvation? Hum!

I have also found that food consumption, consumes, a lot of time; from thinking about it, to shopping, preparing, eating and cleaning up. Hence my free time to blog more today.

I certainly am not hungry, but do miss the sensation of solid food in my mouth.

At lunch with friends yesterday I was informed by a "c" veteran that the experience is rather pleasant, after the prep that it. She said it was the best sleep she ever had and she actually looks forward to going the next time. I highly doubt I will feel the same but nice to know.

So here I am will time on my hands until 4pm when all the fun begins. So now that I have whined a bit, perhaps I will go be productive and finish cleaning out the closet in the hall. I guess one of the side benefits is all this danged extra energy to use up.

OK, some of you will think I went off the deep end, the rest of you....well, you already know me:)

Within the last few weeks it seems mainstream media has brought forward some interesting information. Why now, and what are they telling us exactly about beings from outer space? Do they exist, what are they, and do they pose a threat?

All I can offer is the following information for your consideration along with my personal viewpoint; which technically is worthless.

I do believe other beings exist from somewhere; perhaps other dimensions. I feel that if they are real they more than likely are like us; some good and some bad. I have no fear for some reason of them "landing" or taking over the earth.

They are talked about in the bible so this seems to be nothing new.

So...just a heads up...just in case one knocks on your door.

What I Did on My Summer Vacation!

Also known as....why I haven't been blogging.

We have undertaken much work on our property this year and have diligently worked to achieve our goals. I am please to say many of them have been completed, some are in the works to be completed, and of course, a few haven't begun as I had hoped; but that leaves something on my plate to still dream about in the future.

We tore down several old greenhouses we inherited with the property beyond repair, unfortunately. I do hope to restore the last real glass one next year.

Below are a few pictures of what we have been up to. We now have 9000 sq ft. of new grass growing in place of the debris.

We also added a new mailbox. The husband was already here.

And got the beautiful bell his parents gave us hung.

And added a front deck to replace the old leaking concrete one, plus finally got the much needed roof.

So, now that fall is here I have less excuses for not writing more frequently. Therefore, I hope you will check in once and a while to see what is new.

Litter.....My Pet Peeve!

I live on a somewhat rural road, but several hours during the day many cars pass by.

I am amazed that with all the public awareness out there about tossing trash out your vehicle people still disrespect the environment; not to mention other peoples property.

What do they think happens to their "junk?" It doesn't go away on it's own! I am tired picking up candy wrappers, papers, cups, articles of clothing and unmentionables.

This behavior is disturbing for many reasons. It clearly shows a lack of respect for nature and man. It is an outward manifestation of detachment from spirit. It is a ....you to society and it's rules and formality.

It is a mindless act, like others perpetuated upon society at large. It is yet another sign of those individuals experiencing an entitlement existence. It is a symbol of an ego so self absorbed it fails to recognize the common good.

Practice appreciation for the world in which we all must share. Encourage others to act responsibly. It took a few years, but eventually my mom stopped tossing her gum wrapped out the window. In fact just yesterday she commented on how good it was that I have a trash bag in my car! So please do us all a favor and "pick up," and ya, that means after your dog also.

Oh and in case you were wondering.......cigarette butts.........are trash!!!!!!

Who Do YOU...Sound Like?

Recently we had visitors we only see several times a year. As we were sitting around remanising about the past one phrase kept coming up, "do you know who you sounded like right now?" Frequently, ok...mainly it was not in a complimentary fashion.

It got me thinking about what other will think of me when I am no longer here to explain myself or my actions. I pondered what actions, words or mannerisms will prompt such remarks on my behalf. I do hope they are kind enough to only remember a few of my flaws and laugh at only some of my idiosyncrasies.

What legacy of memories will you leave behind. How do you wish to be, "reminisced"? While it is wonderful to have thoughts of those you loved are they positive or negative ones? Are you leaving an imprint of love, compassion and light or those of a "negative Nelly".

Take time to think about yourself after you have left the body behind...how will those overhead conversation make you feel? If you don't like them....you still have time to make different memories. When they say, "you sound exactly like someone else," be sure it is a positive thought.

Nurture Your Inner Child - Take Time To Play

We are so eager to play when we are small. It is how we learn and figure out how the world around us works. It teaches us many, many valuable skills as well. It is natural for us to simply play.

During our youth we learn how to make friends and resolve issues. We nurture our creative side with play. We are capable of being anything from a rocket scientist to a frog. We have the ability to imagine the world as we wish it to be.

Unfortunately as we age we become afraid of our creative self; we fear rejection or humiliation. It takes courage to exhibit a fun self to the world, it becomes easier to hide behind the curtain of normalcy.

We focus so much on the material we disconnect from having actual creative fun. I'm sorry, but golf...isn't what I am talking about. I mean actual, crazy, spiritually connected fun with your creative side let loose.

Have you ever watched some of the children shows with adults having silly fun? Why are we so afraid to relax and enjoy ourselves. How does that "inner child" get so shut down?

I have notice the only elderly people still grateful for being here, never lost their sense of enthusiasm for life. They retain an inner joy for fun without worry of retribution from others. They are entitled to fun in fact.....and delightfully declare, they are in their "second childhood."

So, if you are still connected to your inner, playful child, stay connected. If you somehow lost that part of you, please go find it again. Your body, mind and spirit will all appreciate it and reward you with better health, a calmer energy and a joyful spirit!

Fearful of little they went about collecting nuts and seeds with great enthusiasm.

If they noticed me or the cat at all, they merely stopped for a second as if to say,"hi", then went on about their business.

You could sense their joy with life and their gratitude for the abundance God has provided them.

The seem to get along quite well with each other, and everything around them fairly easily.

First 6 months of 2010, Americans will continue to live in the 'unreality'…the period between July and October is when the financial fireworks will begin. The Fed will act unilaterally for its own survival irrespective of any political implications …(source is from insider at FED meetings). In the last quarter of the year we could even see Martial law, which is more likely for the first 6 months of 2011. The FDIC will collapse in September 2010. Oh my, the blue house. Over a hundred years old and full of many, many activities.
I was well into my study of parapsychology at this time and perhaps that had something to do with the events of this house.

We had our spring cleaning which meant a thorough deep cleaning of everything. Which was repeated during the fall. Floors, windows, carpets all scrubbed clean.

No longer am I such a control freak. Now, when you can't see out the window, clean it. If you trip over something pick it up and put it away. When you find the floor, sweep it. If you can't tell what color it is, wash it.

I make time for family and friends more often. Sometimes I even spend time on myself for a change. I spend time online blogging and learning, probably more than I should.

So far nobody has fallen ill or died and only occasionally has it become impossible to find something if you look hard enough. But after a while even this can become a stress situation as well. Life is about balance and what works best for you and your family.

Some form of routine can be helpful in keeping you from experiencing total chaos, and I have decided to go back to a little more self discipline. Every once in a while you need to reevaluate what works and doesn't work for you in life and make changes. Remain fluid in thinking and don't forget input from the rest of the family, cooperation is key in success.

But however you choose to live life....do it with overall enthusiasm!

For My Mother!

Motherhood is the most difficult task any woman can take on. The hours are endless, worries compound over the years, at times it feels thankless and you always wonder if you are doing enough.

But a single smile erases you fears. Every first a child achieves provides a glow in you heart, knowing you are there supporting their goals. Seeing them grow into a secure and loving individual with enthusiasm for life provides all proof necessary you have done your best.

Happy Mother's Day Mom, and to all women out there doing what they can to nurture the tiny souls sent to them. Although some days will seem difficult, soon enough your birds will fly from the nest, enjoy each moment!

Both of my daughters have gone on to have amazing families of their own. I am very proud of them. Actually, if I am honest about it, I think they are better at the job than I was.

My advise is simple: take what you mother did right and improve upon it, take what she did wrong and change it for the better. Most of all....love them unconditionally.

Sure...it's the weekend and your tired. Work this week was draining, looking forward to today is what kept you going. You certainly you deserve a break.

But what you do today and tomorrow will be for yourself and your family. As George Ure states on his web site, Urban Survival, "you should work harder for yourself than your employer." Which means...get off the couch and get moving.

Inside all of us hides a "Worker bee," which simply needs motivated. So today find something to learn, start, complete, experience or share.

Get off that couch and be productive. Set a good example and teach strong work ethics to your children. Hard work makes you stronger, builds a better body, and sweat purifies out toxins, all positive things.

Plant a garden for your family. Teach something new to your children. Help someone in need of another hand. Repair what needs fixed. Clean up the environment around you. Be creative with new ideas to promote family unity.

Nothing makes you feel better than completing something and reaching a goal. It actually can be FUN working alongside those you love.

Above all....move it or loose it! Most of those who experience longevity are very hard workers.

Imagine where the world would be if our ancestors were couch potatoes! Enjoy!

Freaky Friday Again.

This morning I will tell you about living in the little yellow bungalow outside a very small community. Generally it was a nice quiet place where nothing out of the ordinary happened....except once.

My father-in-law(first husband's) was in critical condition in the hospital after suffering a heart attack. The doctors kept assuring the family he was recovering nicely, but that never rang true to me. When our eyes met, he and I both knew he wasn't going to make it.

One day, while at home, loud church bells began to ring in our living room. We had nothing in the house capable of making anything near that sound. It was clear, crisp and felt like it hung in the air behind me.

Our daughters ran out of their bedroom and wanted to know where the bells came from. They had heard them as well. I told them I wasn't sure but it meant pap was going to go to heaven.

Shortly after that he did. I have never heard them again, even with the passing of others close to me.

How.....Walk Away From The Drama!!!

Yes, it sounds so simple, but I assure you it won't be that easy. Your must really want to be cured and willing to go through a rather difficult detox.

Should you decide to follow through, your only hope of achieving a sense of well being is to follow the following procedures.

First step: Accept responsibility for your free will! Be accountable for yourself, to yourself.

Second Step: Constantly monitor your every word, action and deed for negative thinking. Sure this part can be exhausting at first but it gets easier as you stick to it on a daily basis. Don't be surprised to find yourself doing it on a second to second basis when you first start, due to heightened sensitivities.

Third Step: Discontinue relationships with other Drama Queen immediately, they are toxic and will hamper your recovery.

Fourth Step: Refuse to participate in negative conversations, especially gossip. Practice positive thinking and take positive actions.

Fifth Step: This is perhaps the most difficult part of the cure....love yourself with a healthy ego!

Sixth Step: Listen to others with compassion, experience sympathy for others.

Warning - You may experience some long term side effects: you may feel pounds lighter, have a wonderful glow, or even find interesting new friends and interests.

I Believe In The Power To Heal!

I am totally convinced we have the power to heal or transform things with loving intentions.

Our planet is facing several dire situations, providing a perfect opportunity to practice sending out healing energy to the universe.

I ask this morning that you take a second or two to send healing love and thoughts to our seas in particular.

I am well aware some of you will think I have dropped off into the deep end, no pun intended, but what do you have to lose by joining me.

Please continue to send out this energy for the benefit of our planet and humanity on a daily basis.

Look around and see what is growing near you. Become an adventurist. I am going to try some pine needle tea after watching the video about how good it tastes.

Look Up And See What Is Going On.

This weatherman had the courage to actually tell his viewers what was going on above them.

Have you noticed unusual trails left behind by aircraft? That is what he is talking about. Pay attention to the weather forecast. If they are calling for clear and warm weather moving in, within a day or two we will no longer see the beautiful sky. Instead a gauzy haze covers that space. Observe that they always start wherever the sun is located, as if to hide it from us. Or is it....us from the sun?

Scot Stevens is another brave weatherman who established a web site addressing this issue. His concern was how this practice effects the earth and humanity in the long term. Take time to watch his videos, they are eye openers.

I do not know the reason for their doing this and have read many ideas and concepts attempting to find out. From my reading though it appears there may be multiple purposes from shielding us from harmful rays, to space wars. Research it and make you own conclusion. In reality it won't matter, damage is being done daily.

My goal is to simply make you more aware things are not as they seem. I have been working in the garden and there is something quite wrong with mother nature. Our planet is dying instead of thriving and it makes me sad. We are loosing our bees, bats, oceans and sky to poisons.

I do not have any answers....only concern for the future of this planet and fear our children's, children will suffer greatly for our lack of respect and care of this beautiful space in the universe.

If the earth is a reflection of the human spirit, the state of the spirit is not doing well. Renew your spiritual energy with positive purpose. Meditate and pray daily, send out loving intentions.

Take personal responsibility for your interactions with the earth. Learn how to nurture the soil, practice conservation, renew and reuse, respect nature. Teach those around you to do the same. Respect humanity as well.

I am certain there are many, many ways to become involved in saving our planet should you be motivated to do so. Simply Google...saving the earth where you will find 57,400,000 links.

It shows how we can allow ourselves to get into negative moods and feel sorry for ourselves.

It shows how sometime you need a good friend to pull you out of your self made misery.

I entered a time warp and finally found my way out. So I hope you will enjoy last weeks article today.

The HORN HOUSE:

Our dream had been fulfilled. Our first home was a beautiful yellow brick with four big bedrooms, fireplace, an amazing quaint bathroom with a perfect claw foot tub, in a quiet little town. It was with great joy we painted and decorated our new living space.

Our daughter, now a little over one, had a cute nursery painted in vivid colors and everything was simply as perfect as could be.

Before long another child was soon to join us and Amy moved out of the nursery into her big girl room across the hall. Things started to become strange after that.

Often we would hear a loud sound: as if a giant box was held in the air and dropped to the ground. We searched and searched but never found the source of the noise.

Frequently we heard footstep coming up the stairs, but no one was on them at the time.

One day, during the winter, we opened the door to our master bedroom to find it totally filled with flies, some dead while other buzzed around annoyingly.

One day upon entering the foyer, I heard something say,"here she comes," and the sounds of many little feet scattering was clear. I could also sense them running about.

Frequently we would hear a strange sound from the corner of the hall, near the bottom of the staircase which I can only explain.... as if hearing a tight giant metal string let go, creating resounding, "ping".

But the most frightening event was the time our 18 month old was found at the bottom of the stairs, blue and lifeless. I rushed her out the door to the doctor on the street above us. Thankfully she is fine! But she will tell you to this day that a scary old woman, "pushed her down the steps," which we have no reason to doubt.

We moved from that home and over the years have heard others refer to the Horn House as being haunted.

It was also in this house that in 1972 we experience other unexplained encounters with UFO's and Men In Black....but that is for another blog.

Well, I guess it is time to brush politics again. This bill is NOT in our best interest and I advise you to read about it and if prompted by spirit, to contact your representative.

Imagine if we could no longer go to the local farmers market to partake in fresh produce.

Imagine if we had no choice in what seeds to purchase.

Imagine if you were not allowed to grow your own food for personal consumption without a permit or following government regulations.

Food safety is of course a concern for the well being of all, but let's not give away our freedom to have a garden or support our local farmers too easily.

Changing Negitive Into Positive.

Sometimes you just need to let off steam. It is the quickest way I know to transform negative energy into positive energy. One must be certain no one else is in your line of fire of course.

Drumming is just such an exercise in energy. It provides a wonderful outlet for frustration, pent up anger and disappointment, the best that I know of.

Please enjoy the video below, which by the way is listed as a spiritual, and let your energy transform. Release any residual negativity while enjoying the nuances of the positive and negative exchanges taking place throughout the music.

Fright Friday Continues

In 1966 we moved Seymour Johnson Air Force Base in Goldsboro, NC for a period of time. It was during the Viet Nam war and this base had recently been reopened to train fighter pilots for combat.

Housing was very difficult to find. Fortunately we found a nice little four room place out in the country. It was filthy and run down but showed great potential. After a few weeks of hard work it started to take shape. With some time to finally relax I noticed something; someone or something else occupied the house with us.

I notice figures walking the hall, back and forth from the kitchen to the bathroom. It didn't bother me, I just wondered what it was. That is the only place I ever saw or felt any presence. These figures simply floated from the kitchen and disappeared into the bathroom.

Then we shared the tiny place with newlyweds that hadn't found housing yet. Diana refused to use the bathroom without her husband being with her. If she had to while he was working, she demanded I stand outside and talk with her until she was finished. When I asked why she told me she was afraid of the ghosts.

She saw what I saw, figures in gray uniforms constantly going in and out of the bathroom. So we decided to see what we could find out about the place.

It seems that during the Civil War this house was used for triage for soldiers passing through. They slept in a loft above.....and guess where the stairs to the loft were located at that time....in the bathroom closet! Exactly where Diana and I saw them go, simply disappearing into the woodwork.

Before long Diana and Virgil found a place of their own. My husband and I became comfortable sharing our space until we moved to an air conditions place; an extreme luxury in North Carolina during the 60's.

Learning From The Universe!

One of the most difficult decisions I faced as a small child was the order in which to eat my M&M's. I was very ritualistic about it and took great care separating them, lining them up in order of preference for consumption. Sometime just to switch it a little they wound up in a groups of beautiful circles, favorite to least.

My order was strictly based upon color preference. Of course with an M&M what else did you have? I found on my wilder days, two M&M became almost interchangeable but only briefly. The order was: Red, Yellow, Orange, Blue, Green, Tan then Brown. Sometime I was brave enough to start on the dark side with....Brown.

No matter the order they always hit the spot. Sometimes I let them simply melt in my mouth; feeling the outer coating gently give way. Then again, a good chomp on a small handful makes me smile every time.

So I thank the M&M for being there, comforting and teaching me while providing such pleasure. Without knowing it, they taught me how to make decisions and find confidence with my choices. Little do we realize how easily the universe teaches us...if only we stay aware and participate.

Oh, the two interchangeable ones? What did you guess? Well, the Yellow and Orange of course. Anything else would be ridiculous.

Now....where did I put them?

I generally am pro everything in attitude being a positive person. But wait a minute, you mean to tell me being pro something isn't always a positive idea? Golly!!

This comes up today because it is du,du,dah......tax week! And guess who hasn't completed theirs yet. That obvious huh.

Frequently we use the excuse the we simply didn't get around to it. We put off today what we can do tomorrow, figuring then we will have more time. Usually finding out that was an illusionary idea hiding in front of the logically thinking brain, providing more time to delay reality.

Fright Friday Is Back!

This is the second story of my encounter with spirits lingering the earth. My husband had joined the air force and was in basic training. It was 1967.

Finances forced me to return home to my parents; until he knew where we would eventually be stationed. They were renting a small home on a nice little street which happened to have a finished third floor. My new bedroom.

The wooden stairs went straight to the top. There was a room to the left, currently used for storage, and my room to the right.

Frequently I would hear my name called, but no one was ever present. Once, I hear someone holler out, "watch out!", again I was alone.

But the scariest part was the feeling I got every time I walked down the stairs. I felt a presence of an old man behind me, close enough that it made the hairs on my neck crawl. Several times I would have sworn he wanted to push me down the stairs and felt a pressure upon my back. I learned to hold on to the railing to deter finding myself at the bottom of the stairs in a heap.

Someone told me later an elderly person had in fact fallen to his death on that staircase, but that remains a rumor.

Other than that, life was rather normal for me and soon we were able once again to have our own place.

Of course, it also came with unexpected company, but that is for next Friday!

April Showers

Well, we knew this glorious weather wouldn't last long, but wasn't it wonderful! It is hard to imagine that just a few weeks ago we were digging out from the never ending snowfall. Nature sure can change direction quickly!

Some of us are grumbling that the weather forecasters are calling for rain tonight and possibly later this week, some with wind gusts and a few severe storms.

But I say....bring it on! Nothing clears the air or cleans up after the winter better than a good rain storm. It makes the grass greener, flowers bloom and saves me from watering the orchard a day or two. Not that I mind really, I actually like standing in the orchard looking at the mountains in the distance and at the field below us waiting the farmers plow.

An additional benefit of a good storm is the extra ions created in the atmosphere. It rejuvenates you physical being, just don't get to close to the lightening!

As with all thing on earth, each serves a purpose and is to be appreciated. Enjoy the rain for soon enough the sun will be back. Take a walk with your umbrella and don't be afraid to step in puddles!

Connecting With Spirit Via Mother Nature

Many years ago I found the easiest way to replenish my spirit and soul was to work the earth. No matter what was going on, getting my hands dirty and nurturing the soil beneath my feet always grounded me in reality.

Frequently problems which seemed daunting were easily resolved before my work was done. Solutions often popped into my head as well seemingly out of nowhere, for those pesky issues which remained to be resolved.

The earth is forgiving and comforting, asking for little and providing so much without a second thought. Perhaps that is why we associate the earth with mother for there are many similarities.

Spring is a wonderful time to re-connect with nature and your spirit. Even if you never intend to grow anything and hate bugs, take time to inhale the energy flowing freely around. Look to the sky and enjoy the warming breezes. Notice the "all" ...blend into the oneness. Smile inside your soul! Let go of your worries and concerns. Relax your physical being!

Plant a garden....a flower?
