Life out if balance?

My oh my oh my!

What is going on?

If you listen to the news or talk to others much you understand the world seems to be falling apart.

Guess what...maybe it is!

You know as well as I.

But one thing I know for sure is there are many angry, lost, desperate people out there completely detached from their spirit.

We as a humanity are at an important place in history. I have no idea why I feel this but I know it is so.

This is the time we need to reach inside and see what resides within.

I had a revelation the other day while making our latest film. We do these impromptu videos in case you haven't noticed.

Spirit led me to talk about the word abide.

Suddenly I felt overwhelmed with emotion and understood that when we are told to abide.... it isn't just about abiding in HIM....but allowing HIM to abide in us.

Not that I really know what that means, but I feel it.

It provides comfort and courage to understand everything is alright. I am able to remain in a calm, comforted space although all around me might be spinning out of control.

Perhaps if you feel like everything is falling apart it's time to do a personal check and see what the word abide means to you.

It just might make you day, or even the rest of your life easier.

Fright Friday Redoux

I entered a time warp and finally found my way out. So I hope you will enjoy last weeks article today.

The HORN HOUSE:

Our dream had been fulfilled. Our first home was a beautiful yellow brick with four big bedrooms, fireplace, an amazing quaint bathroom with a perfect claw foot tub, in a quiet little town. It was with great joy we painted and decorated our new living space.

Our daughter, now a little over one, had a cute nursery painted in vivid colors and everything was simply as perfect as could be.

Before long another child was soon to join us and Amy moved out of the nursery into her big girl room across the hall. Things started to become strange after that.

Often we would hear a loud sound: as if a giant box was held in the air and dropped to the ground. We searched and searched but never found the source of the noise.

Frequently we heard footstep coming up the stairs, but no one was on them at the time.

One day, during the winter, we opened the door to our master bedroom to find it totally filled with flies, some dead while other buzzed around annoyingly.

One day upon entering the foyer, I heard something say,"here she comes," and the sounds of many little feet scattering was clear. I could also sense them running about.

Frequently we would hear a strange sound from the corner of the hall, near the bottom of the staircase which I can only explain.... as if hearing a tight giant metal string let go, creating  resounding, "ping".

But the most frightening event was the time our 18 month old was found at the bottom of the stairs, blue and lifeless. I rushed her out the door to the doctor on the street above us. Thankfully she is fine! But she will tell you to this day that a scary old woman, "pushed her down the steps," which we have no reason to doubt.

We moved from that home and over the years have heard others refer to the Horn House as being haunted.

It was also in this house that in 1972 we experience other unexplained encounters with UFO's and Men In Black....but that is for another blog.

Fright Friday Continues

In 1966 we moved Seymour Johnson Air Force Base in Goldsboro, NC for a period of time. It was during the Viet Nam war and this base had recently been reopened to train fighter pilots for combat.

Housing was very difficult to find. Fortunately we found a nice little four room place out in the country. It was filthy and run down but showed great potential. After a few weeks of hard work it started to take shape. With some time to finally relax I noticed something; someone or something else occupied the house with us.

I notice figures walking the hall, back and forth from the kitchen to the bathroom. It didn't bother me, I just wondered what it was. That is the only place I ever saw or felt any presence. These figures simply floated from the kitchen and disappeared into the bathroom.
Then we shared the tiny place with newlyweds that hadn't found housing yet. Diana refused to use the bathroom without her husband being with her. If she had to while he was working, she demanded I stand outside and talk with her until she was finished. When I asked why she told me she was afraid of the ghosts.

She saw what I saw, figures in gray uniforms constantly going in and out of the bathroom. So we decided to see what we could find out about the place.

It seems that during the Civil War this house was used for triage for soldiers passing through. They slept in a loft above.....and guess where the stairs to the loft were located at that time....in the bathroom closet! Exactly where Diana and I saw them go, simply disappearing into the woodwork.

Before long Diana and Virgil found a place of their own.  My husband and I became comfortable sharing our space until we moved to an air conditions place; an extreme luxury in North Carolina during the 60's.

Next Friday....welcome to the Horn House!

Fright Friday!

Every Friday it is my intent to relay actual ghost stories, starting with the first time I remember "bumping into" one.

My grandmother had died and her loss was profound. We had become quite close;  I sat with her, holding her hand in mine as her spirit soared into heaven.

It wasn't the first time I had dealt with death, but it was the first time I had lost someone so close to me.  Since I was seven death had become almost too familiar, but this was different.

Of course there were personal belongings to take care of and somehow my mother inherited grandmother's beautiful bed. I always looked at it with wonder. I was quite please it was mine to enjoy, since it now resided in my bedroom.

But no one told me she would come along with it. Every night she appeared, standing patiently at the bottom just looking at me. I don't remember her ever saying a word. Perhaps if she did I blocked it out.

Although I loved her very much, seeing her every night like that was more than I wanted to deal with. I asked her to please stop visiting me, and she did. But I never felt comfortable sleeping in her bed again, so shortly after she left...so did the bed.

Today if that were to happened I'm sure things would have been handled differently. I sometimes  wonder if she was disappointed that I was so afraid of her. Hopefully she understood.

I don't remember where the bed went, I think a cousin may have gotten it. But I often wonder if she went with it.

Love you Grandma!

Next Friday- The Spring Street spirit that tried to push me down the stairs.

I See Dead People

Over the weekend I saw parts of The Sixth Sense, one of my favorite movies. Originally I saw it in a theater and figured out the ending fairly easily; because I also sort of see dead people.

If you have not seen the movie: this little boy sees dead people all around trying to talk with him, asking for help,or simply hanging out. Seeing these individuals creates all kinds of havoc, making him wish they would just disappear. Boy, I get that! Imagine for just one second how that would feel.

Sure, you have an occasional oddball who might get a kick out of it, but not many. Think about it! Never a moment alone, never having silence, always facing others fears and dying, over and over, day in and day out. ..not for me thanks.

But...I see dead people none the less, just in a different way.

It is not my intent to convince you what I experience, but to try and explain how I experience it.

My grandmother passed when I was in my early 20's. I was given her beautiful bed as a gift. But I couldn't enjoy it because every night she stood at the bottom, looking at me. I asked her to please go and stop doing that. Which she eventually did, along with the bed. I simply could not stand sleeping in it.

It was the first time I connected with someone who had left this earth. It was the last time I ever actually "saw" them. In fact for many years contact was very sparse. Until a uninvited and unexpected mother of a dear friend actually demanded my attention. Since then it has become the norm.

Once I accepted the fact I would be interacting with the dearly departed, I sort of put in a special request, please....don't make me actually "see" them! So far I haven't had to and found a way to connect. I send out a request for their energy and usually they respond.

The ability to communicate with those past over takes some adapting. There is a learning curve so to speak. Every experience is unique and I still find out new things with every interaction.

Trust me it is not like the television shows, Medium or The Ghost Whisperer. Daily life is rather normal and unglamorous. At least mine is, for which I am thankful.

My spirits are sensed somewhere internally, deep within they appear to me. I hear them and what they wish to convey, not always easily or correctly at first. I am told that inflections and speech patterns of the deceased sometimes come across.

Certain individuals tend to stand in particular places, for whatever reason. Some leave human ideas behind, others hang on to them for dear life, and a few proceed directly into the light releasing all earthly bonds immediately. It seems you have many options after leaving this realm. You can choose appearance, age, condition, you name it. In fact you don't have to keep a body at all! You may also refuse to respond when summoned. You still retain free will.

Most spirits are seeking peace and forgiveness. Many want loved ones to know they are ok, they made it. Generally these experiences provide answers to lingering questions. They also can give closure to pain and suffering for the family and friends remaining behind.

In closing, I caution those seeking such connection. We are to live in this plane and they in theirs. Hanging on will hold both parties from moving forward. Should you feel the need, please choose your assistant carefully to be certain of a positive outcome for all.
