I feel tormented looking out at the gentle rain pouring down outside the window, holding my urge to escape the house at bay. This morning I sit here suffering from pre-spring fever. The past few days a hint of warmth entered the air bringing with it a sense of restlessness. Sign are everywhere it won't be too long now. Yesterday they were popping up all over.
For the first time this year my arch enemy dare show his face. Fearlessly he sat there, as if laughing at my attempt to act like I own the place. He holds his ground, master of all he surveys. Yes...I am talking about...dund, dund, da.... ..........................HIM.
Unfortunately...he seems much smarter that I. Perhaps he can be convinced to try out for Survivor, surely he can outwit, certainly he can outlast. Maybe we can have a truce, and he will agree to leave a little of the garden for me to eat this year.
Oh yes, my garden. With a sense of awe I found the first seed catalog in the mailbox, the pictures on the cover convincing me soon my yard will look like that. No matter the blight of last year. A true gardener remains eternally optimistic.
My body tells me we can go play in the dirt soon. My mind races with new ideas for plants, constantly re-designing the landscaping.
Soon too...I can make "lists" of things I need to buy for the season: seeds, flowers, stone. Time to get the John Deere in order, perhaps a new set of tires. Fun stuff....I'm being serious here. Spring make me feel alive, vital, old. lol It is a wonderful season. Well mainly.
Unfortunately for some of us that will also mean tires for our cars too. If you live in Southwestern Pennsylvania, you also recognize an unpleasant sign of spring....POTHOLES!
Enough said about that!
Have a great day, smile and "Think Spring"
