Life out if balance?

My oh my oh my!

What is going on?

If you listen to the news or talk to others much you understand the world seems to be falling apart.

Guess what...maybe it is!

You know as well as I.

But one thing I know for sure is there are many angry, lost, desperate people out there completely detached from their spirit.

We as a humanity are at an important place in history. I have no idea why I feel this but I know it is so.

This is the time we need to reach inside and see what resides within.

I had a revelation the other day while making our latest film. We do these impromptu videos in case you haven't noticed.

Spirit led me to talk about the word abide.

Suddenly I felt overwhelmed with emotion and understood that when we are told to abide.... it isn't just about abiding in HIM....but allowing HIM to abide in us.

Not that I really know what that means, but I feel it.

It provides comfort and courage to understand everything is alright. I am able to remain in a calm, comforted space although all around me might be spinning out of control.

Perhaps if you feel like everything is falling apart it's time to do a personal check and see what the word abide means to you.

It just might make you day, or even the rest of your life easier.

Fright Friday Redoux

I entered a time warp and finally found my way out. So I hope you will enjoy last weeks article today.

The HORN HOUSE:

Our dream had been fulfilled. Our first home was a beautiful yellow brick with four big bedrooms, fireplace, an amazing quaint bathroom with a perfect claw foot tub, in a quiet little town. It was with great joy we painted and decorated our new living space.

Our daughter, now a little over one, had a cute nursery painted in vivid colors and everything was simply as perfect as could be.

Before long another child was soon to join us and Amy moved out of the nursery into her big girl room across the hall. Things started to become strange after that.

Often we would hear a loud sound: as if a giant box was held in the air and dropped to the ground. We searched and searched but never found the source of the noise.

Frequently we heard footstep coming up the stairs, but no one was on them at the time.

One day, during the winter, we opened the door to our master bedroom to find it totally filled with flies, some dead while other buzzed around annoyingly.

One day upon entering the foyer, I heard something say,"here she comes," and the sounds of many little feet scattering was clear. I could also sense them running about.

Frequently we would hear a strange sound from the corner of the hall, near the bottom of the staircase which I can only explain.... as if hearing a tight giant metal string let go, creating  resounding, "ping".

But the most frightening event was the time our 18 month old was found at the bottom of the stairs, blue and lifeless. I rushed her out the door to the doctor on the street above us. Thankfully she is fine! But she will tell you to this day that a scary old woman, "pushed her down the steps," which we have no reason to doubt.

We moved from that home and over the years have heard others refer to the Horn House as being haunted.

It was also in this house that in 1972 we experience other unexplained encounters with UFO's and Men In Black....but that is for another blog.

Pass It Along- Keep The Chain Going!

We have too many serious things going on around us and we forget to laugh and smile.

Please enjoy this video and don't be afraid to laugh!

Food Freedom: s510 of the US Food Safety modernization Act 2010

Food Freedom: s510 of the US Food Safety modernization Act 2010

Well, I guess it is time to brush politics again. This bill is NOT in our best interest and I advise you to read about it and if prompted by spirit, to contact your representative.

Imagine if we could no longer go to the local farmers market to partake in fresh produce.

Imagine if we had no choice in what seeds to purchase.

Imagine if you were not allowed to grow your own food for personal consumption without a permit or following government regulations.

Food safety is of course a concern for the well being of all, but let's not give away our freedom to have a garden or support our local farmers too easily.

Thank you for reviewing this potentially damaging legislation.

And this:

Reflecting upon the power God and the universe has over our lives makes one pause.

Live life as if it is important, without regret, knowing your journey here was well done.

Keep comfort in the concept that all things are as they are suppose to be.

It is a wonderful time to appreciate life and accept qeu sara sara.

Changing Negitive Into Positive.

Sometimes you just need to let off steam. It is the quickest way I know to transform negative energy into positive energy. One must be certain no one else is in your line of fire of course.

Drumming is just such an exercise in energy. It provides a wonderful outlet for frustration, pent up anger and disappointment, the best that I know of.

Please enjoy the video below, which by the way is listed as a spiritual, and let your energy transform. Release any residual negativity while enjoying the nuances of the positive and negative exchanges taking place throughout the music.

And....if you feel like it, get up and move, or drum on the table along with them.
Oh, if you have never tried drumming....I suggest you try it!

Fright Friday Continues

In 1966 we moved Seymour Johnson Air Force Base in Goldsboro, NC for a period of time. It was during the Viet Nam war and this base had recently been reopened to train fighter pilots for combat.

Housing was very difficult to find. Fortunately we found a nice little four room place out in the country. It was filthy and run down but showed great potential. After a few weeks of hard work it started to take shape. With some time to finally relax I noticed something; someone or something else occupied the house with us.

I notice figures walking the hall, back and forth from the kitchen to the bathroom. It didn't bother me, I just wondered what it was. That is the only place I ever saw or felt any presence. These figures simply floated from the kitchen and disappeared into the bathroom.
Then we shared the tiny place with newlyweds that hadn't found housing yet. Diana refused to use the bathroom without her husband being with her. If she had to while he was working, she demanded I stand outside and talk with her until she was finished. When I asked why she told me she was afraid of the ghosts.

She saw what I saw, figures in gray uniforms constantly going in and out of the bathroom. So we decided to see what we could find out about the place.

It seems that during the Civil War this house was used for triage for soldiers passing through. They slept in a loft above.....and guess where the stairs to the loft were located at that time....in the bathroom closet! Exactly where Diana and I saw them go, simply disappearing into the woodwork.

Before long Diana and Virgil found a place of their own.  My husband and I became comfortable sharing our space until we moved to an air conditions place; an extreme luxury in North Carolina during the 60's.

Next Friday....welcome to the Horn House!

Learning From The Universe!

One of the most difficult decisions I faced as a small child was the order in which to eat my M&M's. I was very ritualistic about it and took great care separating them, lining them up in order of preference for consumption. Sometime just to switch it a little they wound up in a groups of beautiful circles, favorite to least.

My order was strictly based upon color preference. Of course with an M&M what else did you have? I found on my wilder days, two M&M became almost interchangeable but only briefly. The order was: Red, Yellow, Orange, Blue, Green, Tan then Brown. Sometime I was brave enough to start on the dark side with....Brown.

No matter the order they always hit the spot. Sometimes I let them simply melt in my mouth;  feeling the outer coating gently give way. Then again, a good chomp on a small handful makes me smile every time.

So I thank the M&M for being there, comforting and teaching me while providing such pleasure. Without knowing it, they taught me how to make decisions and find confidence with my choices. Little do we realize how easily the universe teaches us...if only we stay aware and participate.

Oh, the two interchangeable ones? What did you guess? Well, the Yellow and Orange of course. Anything else would be ridiculous.

Now....where did I put them?

Pro-crastination!

Finally, something I am truly gifted doing, putting things off!

n.[L. crastinus of to-morrow, from cras to-morrow.]
Procrastination; a putting off till to-morrow. [Obs.]

I generally am pro everything in attitude being a positive person. But wait a minute, you mean to tell me being pro something isn't always a positive idea? Golly!!

This comes up today because it is du,du,dah......tax week! And guess who hasn't completed theirs yet. That obvious huh.

Frequently we use the excuse the we simply didn't get around to it. We put off today what we can do tomorrow, figuring then we will have more time. Usually finding out that was an illusionary idea hiding in front of the logically thinking brain, providing more time to delay reality.
n.
    1. an erroneous perception of reality.
    2. An erroneous concept or belief.
  1. The condition of being deceived by a false perception or belief.
  2. Something, such as a fantastic plan or desire, that causes an erroneous belief or perception.
  3. Illusionism in art.
  4. A fine transparent cloth, used for dresses or trimmings.
But wait, there is a cure and it can be yours free today only.

Simply check on the item below and all your problems will disappear. Well, ok, maybe not all of them, perhaps none of them actually. But it will give you that incentive you said you were waiting for.

So enjoy your day and complete something on your do list. Set yourself free from at least one of those lingering issues playing with your monkey brain.

Fright Friday Is Back!

This is the second story of my encounter with spirits lingering the earth.  My husband had joined the air force and was in basic training. It was 1967.

Finances forced me to return home to my parents; until he knew where we would eventually be stationed. They were renting a small home on a nice little street which happened to have a finished third floor. My new bedroom.

The wooden stairs went straight to the top. There was a room to the left, currently used for storage, and my room to the right.

Frequently I would hear my name called, but no one was ever present. Once, I hear someone holler out, "watch out!", again I was alone.

But the scariest part was the feeling I got every time I walked down the stairs. I felt a presence of an old man behind me, close enough that it made the hairs on my neck crawl. Several times I would have sworn he wanted to push me down the stairs and felt a pressure upon my back. I learned to hold on to the railing to deter finding myself at the bottom of the stairs in a heap.

Someone told me later an elderly person had in fact fallen to his death on that staircase, but that remains a rumor.

Other than that, life was rather normal for me and soon we were able once again to have our own place.

Of course, it also came with unexpected company, but that is for next Friday!

April Showers

Well, we knew this glorious weather wouldn't last long, but wasn't it wonderful! It is hard to imagine that just a few weeks ago we were digging out from the never ending snowfall. Nature sure can change direction quickly!

Some of us are grumbling that the weather forecasters are calling for rain tonight and possibly later this week, some with wind gusts and a few severe storms.

But I say....bring it on! Nothing clears the air or cleans up after the winter better than a good rain storm. It makes the grass greener, flowers bloom and saves me from watering the orchard a day or two. Not that I mind really, I actually like standing in the orchard looking at the mountains in the distance and at the field below us waiting the farmers plow.

An additional benefit of a good storm is the extra ions created in the atmosphere. It rejuvenates you physical being, just don't get to close to the lightening!

As with all thing on earth, each serves a purpose and is to be appreciated. Enjoy the rain for soon enough the sun will be back. Take a walk with your umbrella and don't be afraid to step in puddles!

Connecting With Spirit Via Mother Nature

Many years ago I found the easiest way to replenish my spirit and soul was to work the earth. No matter what was going on, getting my hands dirty and nurturing the soil beneath my feet always grounded me in reality.

Frequently problems which seemed daunting were easily resolved before my work was done. Solutions often popped into my head as well seemingly out of nowhere, for those pesky issues which remained to be resolved.

The earth is forgiving and comforting, asking for little and providing so much without a second thought. Perhaps that is why we associate the earth with mother for there are many similarities.

Spring is a wonderful time to re-connect with nature and your spirit. Even if you never intend to grow anything and hate bugs, take time to inhale the energy flowing freely around. Look to the sky and enjoy the warming breezes. Notice the "all" ...blend into the oneness. Smile inside your soul!  Let go of your worries and concerns. Relax your physical being!

Plant a garden....a flower?

Don't be afraid of the mud. Have a great day.....enjoy Mother Nature's bounty.

Good Friday-For Who?

Today I ponder the concept of Good Friday and what it means. I know it has to do with the death of Jesus and his saving our souls, but where did that idea come from?

Good Friday Explained

When I was young it was a very special day in our small town. Every store and most establishments were closed between 1-3 in order to remember Christ's suffering and death. I always felt the solemness of those three hours. It was a time to sit in church quietly reflecting upon life and those blessing we have received on earth. It was a time of humility.

Today business goes on as usual, some people have the day off from work, the banks close a little earlier, but that is about it. Few people will actually attend a service today, let alone think about renewing their personal faith.

So, take time to reflect upon life, practice gratitude, find a moment of solace. Your religious philosophy,  and whether or not you follow a particular faith is unimportant. What does matter is how you perceive life and the actions you take during your time here.

As Mr. Rodgers would say, "Its' a beautiful day in the neighborhood," so enjoy yours and share  loving energy with all those you meet along the way.

We Think We Are Going To Have So Much More Time!

The fear of death follows from the fear of life. A man who lives fully is prepared to die at any time." -   --  Mark Twain

One concept which stood out this past few weeks was how many of us think we will exist forever.

The little things shows us that idea is wrong; like the task of cleaning out old mail or determining what to do with all that stuff collected overtime by someone else.

Perhaps by ignoring death we feel it will simply forget about us, pass us by a while longer. But you have no ability to deter your departure, regardless of age, health, wealth, space or time.

Still, aging, illness and dying, remain unspoken about until they become the elephant in the room. Our inability to address leaving our body behind, death, our crossing over, is still mainly a taboo subject in many homes.

But my observation these past weeks have shown me the beauty and grace possible when such communications take place.

My father-in-law's- passing was just such an event. We were graced with the opportunity to know what he wanted and of his desire to "go to sleep ethically."  Hospice was simply wonderful in their care.

Together we nurtured his body and soul until the final moments. It was a beautiful, yes beautiful moment to share. Peace filled the room as his pain subsided. He relaxed into the arms of an awaiting angel to speed his journey homeward.

I simply could not help but notice.... the process is similar to the one we take getting here, a birth/death a yin/yang cycle. We come and explore, we go back again, perhaps to do it all over another time.

We celebrate the idea of someone new joining our family, while we morn those leaving. Perhaps we have that backwards. Just think about it for a moment. Someone must leave a safe loving place to come here for as long as their body and soul determine. After that set time arrives they are permitted to return to their safe haven.

My eldest granddaughter visited me the day before she was born, afraid and not to certain she wanted to follow through her life plan. After some assurance she willing joined our family and is a wonderful presence and a joy. But she taught me about life, non life, and life choices.

We are a continuum of life, world without end. Embrace both with openness and love. Live for each and everyday for we know not the time or hour of our departure. Fear not life or death.
